Deep in the wild heart of West Cork, where the Atlantic crashes against ancient copper-stained cliffs and mountains roll into the sea, one of Ireland's most spectacular outdoor challenges awaits. The Beast of Beara is back — and it's calling you. Taking place on Saturday, July 18th at 11am, the Beast of Beara is a 21.1km mountain trail adventure through some of the most breathtaking scenery on the Beara Peninsula. The route follows part of the famous Beara Way walking route, taking in the historic Allihies Copper Mines, Ternahillane, Goula, and stunning coastal trails — starting and finishing in the gorgeous village of Allihies.
Along the way, participants take on three magnificent peaks — Allihies Coppermine (250m), Ternahillane (250m), and the mighty Goula (340m ) with spectacular scenery and panoramic views at every turn. Facebook Whether you're an elite trail runner chasing a personal best or a walker looking for an unforgettable day out in nature, this event was made for you.
