DeBarra’s Folk Club, Clonakilty, West Cork, is thrilled to announce the return of Grammy Award-winning Irish-American singer-songwriter Aoife O’Donovan for a very special evening on Tuesday, 28th July 2026. Aoife will perform Bruce Springsteen’s seminal 1982 album Nebraska in its entirety, solo and acoustic, for the very first time in Ireland.
This now annual tradition has O’Donovan returning to perform at DeBarra’s, during what has become her almost annual visit to Cork. Tickets are on sale now via debarra.ie
O’Donovan first performed Nebraska in its entirety in 2011, but it was nearly a decade later where her version of the album resonated globally - when she performed it as a livestream benefit for MusiCares in May 2020. The audio from that performance was released digitally exclusively on O’Donovan’s bandcamp with The New York Times described that performance as "saluting Springsteen’s song craft with clear, pitch-perfect articulation and affable delivery.”
Since, O’Donovan has performed this album in renowned venues around the world including London’s King’s Place, Cambridge Sanders Theatre and at the Newport Folk Festival. The
DeBarra’s concert will be the first time she has brought the show to Ireland. Speaking about her connection to the album, O’Donovan has said: “I first heard it sitting in the back seat of my dad’s car and I was terrified” — a fear that gave way, as she grew into a songwriter, to a deep reverence for Springsteen’s craft. “I got really deep into the songwriting aspect of it. I was just floored at how he was able to paint such a vivid, stark picture.”

Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Aoife O'Donovan moves freely beyond genre — weaving folk, bluegrass, and indie rock into something timeless. She is the featured vocalist on The Goat Rodeo Sessions (the group with Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, Edgar Meyer, and Chris Thile); has performed with over a dozen symphonies, written for Alison Krauss; and spent a decade as a contributor to the radio variety shows “Live From Here” and “A Prairie Home Companion”. O’Donovan continues to enchant audiences worldwide with her soul-stirring music and unwavering passion for storytelling through song.
