The jazz pianists are clipping their finger nails, the drummers are shadow boxing around their hotel rooms and the brass players scrape the snot out of their horns in preparation for the thundering annual avalanche of jazz and drink about to descend on the city. Like it or not jazz fever (along with many other substances) will be rammed down your throat all weekend no matter where you go and of course we all love it. As we all know the success of the jazz festival over the years has meant that the focus is not always on jazz'
