Collections Cork

Collections Cork features some of the best know music lovers, DJ's & promoters from Cork city.

The idea was to gather a collection of music from each individual that represent's what got them into music, the kind of stuff they cherish the most, but also to gather the music they never really play in pub's or club's - their most loved private records.

Collections was conceived by two Mayo men, KC from Red FM and Damien G, a well known DJ and record collector who have being living in Cork for many years and were overawed by the sublime music tastes of their fellow citizens.

"We hope these mixes showcase the immense musical talent and passion that still survives in Cork, and in time perhaps they will become as respected as notorious 'mix tapes ' from back in the day ", said the boys perfectly in unison.

PROC would like to wish KC well with his new nightly show on Today FM as he moves on from Red FM for whom his Breakfast Show won a two-in-a-row at the PPI awards in 08 and 09.

With his pending emigration to the Pale he will shortly be debriefed by PROC Department of Foreign Affairs officials on the dangers and immoralities of Dublin before receiving his exit permit and a complimentary taser - an item issued to many Corkonians who are visiting other counties for the first time. It automatically activates if it detects any bullshit thus protecting the bearer from any non-Corkonian influences and other evil things.

It is a condition of the Mayo man's release papers form the People's Republic that at least 80% of KC's shows will consist of Cork produced music and that the 'Balla' will take up the other 20%.
