It is very difficult to actually get imprisoned in this country.

Then this shower are expecting pity for the animals, they want kids visiting prisons as if its something to aspire to FFS.

Any mention of what these ' people ' did to society in order to actually achieve a prison sentence, no none at all.

Fucking liberals.

The people who are being impacted are the family though, who haven't committed an offence. The pity, if there is some to be given, is for those people.

You have a right to have a relationship with a parent, even if that parent is a criminal, or an addict, or whatever.

There is 127 female prison places in Ireland, so it could be safe to assume they stay overnight
 I very much doubt it was all at the same time. It's just that one doesn't have to commit a heinous crime to end up behind bars here. And yet others do commit heinous crimes and never do time.

If you don't pay your TV Licence and get put in jail, are you allowed watch TV in jail?
You can be a scumbag and create lots of coin for the legal business and continue to get suspended sentences at the tax payers expense.

However if you have never ever had a criminal offence you will get jailed for no TV licence, what a great system we have.
I suppose though the guy without the TV licence will not forget to get one next time.

Then we have the stats that the legal business need to whenever someone comes on and gives out that scum are not put into prison.

It is obviously mostly those that will never offend again as they are just a waste of time for the legal business.

But yes they can watch TV, better than at home in all probability

No one has ever been jailed for not having a TV licence. No one who "forgets" to have a TV licence has ever been jailed. If you are prosecuted for not having a TV licence, you will be fined. If you refuse to pay the fine, then you may eventually be jailed for failure to comply with a Court order. If you cannot afford to pay the fine, you will be given time to pay it in instalments.

The vast majority of the "legal business" is not in any way connected to criminal law. You seem to think that criminal legal aid is the beginning, middle and end to the legal industry as opposed to a very small part of it.

You would be sentenced to jail for no tv licence but you wont serve time unless there is s reason for serving time ie wont pay because no enough irish language programs or excuses like that.
