The current Ireland team are not a great manager away from being in the mix for major tournament qualification imho, there's no point building up the team into something it is not and cannot be at this present time, we don't have the players, for reasons that have been rehashed many times.
Maybe a more talented crop of players will start to feed through to the senior team as our population becomes more diverse and if more youngsters opt to play the beautiful game instead of GAA and that uncouth sport called rugby.
Our current squad on their day are capable of losing to anyone, no matter how lowly ranked, lets not kid ourselves otherwise. If we even had one truly great player who could inspire those around him to play above themselves but alas no sign of that messiah coming to our rescue. Buy me a coffee.
