100%. A completely cynical move done as close to the elections as possible and at a time when the exposure the Abbeyville campaign got was at its maximum. He could easily have done this last December.

But back to his move to run independent. This is actually not good news for Mr. Blighe, as anyone who's leaning to vote on an anti immigration stance might just go for William O'Leary as a more presentable candidate in that regard.
