Batsh*t Crazy Green Party

Parts of Cork Area Commuter Rail Programme have commenced, these were prioritised by the NRRP
The through track in Kent is under construction
The twin track for Midleton went out to tender last month and
they hope to start in the summer.
The signalling and communications upgrade work started in January.
To be completed Oct 2026
Proposed new stations at Blarney/Stoneview, Monard, Blackpool/Kilbarry, Tivoli, Dunkettle, Carrigtwohill West, Water Rock, and Ballynoe are at the design stage.

FFS, these have been proposed and had general plans for a generation or more. This slow, slow, slower time-scale is crazy. Even Ryan this morning admitted that it makes no sense to try to get private cars off the road without providing viable public transport options first. These interminable delays in actual on-the-ground viable public transport make as little sense as 19 months to try process International Assylum Applicants, at the end of which if they're unsuccessful they'll be "asked" rather than made leave.

The Greens should stop trying to lecture people about reducing the use of private transport until the Greens get their finger out and actually provide a viable public transport option!

What are the other parties plans for public transport.
There has been progress made on Cork Area Commuter Rail Programme
Just because you didn't know or it isn't to your liking
progress wise, doesnt mean it isn't happening.

Greens have been in Government for 8 of the last 20 years when this very obvious Public Transport facility was supposed to be brought on-line (pardon the pun).

And still nada has happened. And still Eamon Ryan pontificates about how it's bad for the planet that people aren't using public transport. The clown isn't even willing/able to avail of low-hanging fruit of the Cork-Mallow railway line FFS.

You do agree with climate change? Right?

Kent station is being renovated at the moment. Extra platforms being added and signalling works being done to enable it to cater for extra traffic. No point building new stations if we don’t have the rail infrastructure to cater for additional capacity.
