Le Brian Deady & The Snazzy Kools,
agus Splanc
The Roundy, Sráid an Chaisleáin,
22ú Deireadh Fomhair 2008, 8.30pm
Ticéadaí €5/3 ag an dorais

Dúisigh d'anam ceoil le Club Daonphoblacht roimh teacht an deireadh seachtaine Jazz i gCorcaigh ar an 22ú Deireadh Fomhair. Is ó chian 's ó chóngar a thagtar go Club DP, an t-aon club gaeilge i gCorcaigh.

Roimhe seo, bhí a leithéad de siamsa againn le aoi speisíalta mar John Spillane, Colin McClean agus Des Bishop a tháinig chun dorais. An mhí seo bígí ag siúl le ceol a cuirfidh ola ar do chroí. Beidh an 'intergalactic soulster' Brian Deady agus a ghrúpa The Snazzy Kools ag seinnt a cheoil corraitheach beomhar chun cineál réamhrá a thabhairt dúinn don Céiliúradh Jazz.

Scaoileadh an singil 'Any Ol' Ting' i mí Lúnasa agus ó shin, tá clú agus cáil an ghrúpa seo ag dul i mead. Deis iontach dúinn an 'soulster' seo a fheiceáil san ionad beag speisíalta seo roimh teacht amach a chuid album go luath. Ar an slí go Stardom ansin a bheidh sé gan dabht!

Tionchar mór do Brian agus a ghrúpa ná Marvin Gaye, Kool and the Gang, Amp Fiddler, Erikah Badu agus Steeley Dan. Bígí ag siúl le oíche de cinéal soul agus funk nach raibh a leithéad ann riamh, bhuel i gCorcaigh ar aon slí!

Ní leor é sin áfach, don dream a bhfuil fonn orthu bheith ag pocléimneach thart, beidh Splanc ag teacht ar ais chúinn istoíche le ríleanna agus poirte fuinneamheacha. Rogha fíor iontach de ceol agus siamsíocht geallaimse daoibhse!

The Roundy, Castle Street
22nd October 2008, 8.30pm
Tickets: €5/3 on the door

Warm the lining of your musical soul with our jazz weekend warm-up at Club Daon-Phoblacht, Cork's only Irish language club night.

Previously treating clubbers to the likes of John Spillane, Colin McLean Latin Trio and Des Bishop this month we have chosen intergalactic funkster Brian Deady and his soul pumping band The Snazzy Kools to provide the entertainment.

His hugely popular single, Any Ol' Ting was released in August and radio plays have been snowballing as interest in the soulster continues to grow so see him now in this intimate setting before he releases his much anticipated album and takes off for the stars.

Brian and band count among their influences Marvyn Gaye, Kool and the Gang, Amp Fiddler and Erykah Badu and Steely Dan so expect a fantastic evening with more funk and soul than you can shake a bodhrán schtick at.

The musical treats don't end there however as Club DP favourites Splanc make a welcome return with their foot tapping, knee hopping jigs and reels.

Club DP is an Irish language club and social night for people of all abilities to use and practice their native tongue in a relaxed environment, brought to you by your favourite Cork extremists at The Peoples' Republic website.
