Cynics, critics and general all round moaners are having a tough time picking holes in Saturday's Carnival. As tens of thousands of people converged on the city centre every cynical langer ready to take shots at the events couldn't avoid that sinking feeling "Shit...this is actually arite like".

Bass on Pana
dubbed Yokes On Pana during the week attracted the noisiest and most enthusastic crowd. Be it Paddy's Day parade or some other half arsed street arts festival the younger generation usually gather round the fringes scowling and tsching at the apparant uncoolness of the events. Featuring a plethora of DJs and musicians around the stage and a very enthusiastic crowd one can't help wondering WHY THE FUCK DOESN'T THIS HAPPEN EVERY WEEK?!


Surely with the sell-out success of Where's Me Culture? at the Mardyke on Saturday night and the enthusaism of the performers and audience on Pana in the afternoon there must be hundreds of people asking why it has taken Cork so long to come up with such an obviously good idea: blocking off Pana and having a rave!

To be fair can you even imagine the trauma of attempting to over come the trinity of obstacles in the form of City Hall, Garda'
