Suspected Job Offer Under Investigation
Garda Forensic Team will search for evidence of Clon job

Gardaí were called to the scene of a local business in the picturesque town of Clonakilty in West Cork earlier today where a local man has claimed he was offered a job.

The man in his mid-twenties reported that a well known business woman in the town had assured him that there was the likelihood of a vacant position in the coming days.

The conversation is believed to have taken place at a pub in the town centre a number of days ago and the man alleges that an advertisement appeared briefly on a lamppost near the town but he is unable to remember where the job was supposed to become available.

Garda Chief Superintendent Pat Boss announced that he will be heading an investigation into the unusual claim.

'It is our understanding that a sign offering employment for one person has been sighted somewhere in the town and we intend to get investigate this matter thoroughly.'

Clonakilty is in shock at the allegations of a job propect

He went on to describe how Garda recourses will not be sparred in the hunt.

'Our forensic team are currently on their way from the city and will leave no stone unturned in tracking this job down if it exists. '

Clonakilty Tidy Town vice-president Liam Protestant was very concerned the action of those involved.

'This is a very dangerous situation for any rural town to be in. We would be unable to cope with the tens of thousands of unemployed young men and women who might flock to the town if the rumour that there was a job here got out. If this is a joke, it really is a sick one.'

The Irish government are currently writing legislation to make it illegal for anyone to offer or publicise a vacant job without the vacant post first being announced at a Fianna Fail press conference in Dublin by two fat lads.
