Santy's One Too Many
Due to the cold weather Santy will be starting his journey across Ireland from
Cork this year. As Corkonian families are more generous with food and drink for
the big man and his troupe of reindeers the extra sustenance will help to keep
them warm on their long journey around the country. It's also a fact that Cork
isn't as cold as the rest of the country - our natural warmth as Ireland's friendliest
tribe keeps us nice and cosy.

Don't leave booze out for the big fella. |
After Santy's rounds last year many mums and dads were concerned that the big man might have drunk too much whisky and brandy as an extra bright red nose was reported by many parents who were up late enough to see the famous sleigh pass over the city.
Reports also suggest that a hazy eyed Santy was found sleeping in one Farranree home by a feen's dad who heard loud snoring about 1.30am on Christmas Eve.
Mumbling that a drink he
had at one Ballyvolane household was spiked Santy thanked the man for waking
him, climbed back on the roof to the sleigh and his, now cold and upset, reindeers
and set off on his journey north following the Mallow Road at high speed.
Later many Mallow
residents reported loud bangs followed by bellowing laughter on their roofs
as a merry Santy regularly forgot to put out his sleigh's landing gear and made
dramatic wobbly landings.
Reliable sources at both the North Pole and residents on Barrack Street have
denied Santy was seen leaving a well known pub in the historic Cork area just
before midnight.
