Noelie: Definitely NOT a Racist

Election Watch: Noelie Definitely Not a RacistDanny Elbow

The twinchy font that his Fianna F·il constituency rival, Billy Kelleher is using on his advertising to ask voters to "continue their preference" for running mate Noel O'Flynn is so small that one guesses that things are heating up between the two sitting TDs in North Central. It's almost a certainty that the government vote will drop so one of the two could lose their seat, leaving a tense few weeks between the FF rivals in the run up to Polling Day.

Deputy Kelleher recently glossed up his image with an appearance on Celebrity You're a Star as part of the Politicians Team and, for his efforts, is now considered "down with the young people".

Noelie on the other hand doesn't quite match his running mate in the good looks department and will have to settle for bingomaster with pensioners on the Cathedral Road to boost his profile.

Volunteers of "diverse ethnic backgrounds" erect posters for independent John McCarthy on Patricks Bridge recently.

Noted by those in the city, and particularly by listeners to Neil Prendeville, as the man who stood up to "spongers" pouring into the city claiming refugee status, the Fianna F·il man has carefully chosen the positioning of his posters in the North Central Constituency to reflect his 2007 image.

Glenvera Hotel on Wellington Road, just above MacCurtain Street now houses those waiting to have their refugee applications processed. Noelie (friend of foreigners) has chosen to place one of his election posters right outside the centre. This has the double effect of reminding 96FM producers on their way to work 200 yards down the road that Noelie is there for them if they need him.

PROC spotted one NOF poster further up Wellington Road to which a black mark had been added to the upper lip of Cork's most un-racist politician, indicating Der Fuhrer still has some way to go to convince people of his views on foreigners.

For us though, he's definitely not a racist. Definitely not. Definitely. Not.
