Keith Barry Admits It May Have All Been In His Head

Magician Keith Barry who allegedly drove to Cork from Dublin to go on Red FM with DJ Niall Prendeville is said to be re-examining his memory as suspicion grows that the Waterford magician did not travel to Cork at all as had been previously claimed.

In a rant on Facebook last week Mr. Barry berated broadcaster Neil Prendeville for pulling his Red FM interview despite having driven down from Dublin with almost no sleep to plug an upcoming show.

Hang the DJ? Niall is playing mind games with Keith.

However, according to a close friend, it seems increasingly likely that the event may have been a “complex hallucination experiment during extended R.E.M” – a technique developed by the magician to control the lucidity of his thoughts. These hallucinations can then be stored in the brain as if they had really occurred.

While many may point to Prendeville’s Monday morning defence of his actions as proof that the incident did actually occur, Neil’s memory has often failed him in the past, having to rely on others to recall major events.

“This would not be the first time that Niall has been unsure as to the detail of controversial incidents that have involved himself”, said a former colleague, “sometimes he blocks things out so he has to rely on friends and newspapers to piece things together afterwards”.

By way of apology Neil has been invited to Keith Barry’s upcoming show at the Everyman and asked to be a guinea-pig for a new hypnosis section of the show that delves into people’s forgotten memories.

Inception: has Keith Barry created false memories in all Corkonians about Neil Prendeville? Maybe you-know-what never actually happened....

“Keith often gets people to recall major incidents in their life that they thought they had forgotten about”, said a spokesperson, “and recreate them in public on stage ”.

* We wish to acknowledge that Keith Barry has never masturbated (physically) in public.
