Getting Your Music On PRC

The music section of PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com contains mp3s from Cork bands, producers and singer song writers. Unlike global mp3 hosts the majority of our audience is located in Ireland. PRC is not a music-only site and at the time of writing has over 1500 users visiting the site everyday therefore you have an opportunity to get some free publicity to a large audience at the very least. Several artists have achieved over 100 downloads in their first day on the site.

We will put your music on the website, give you a page of your own and anounce your arrival on the homepage. We'll also include you in the weekly mail out to all our users.

Send us the following:
1. Info on who you are (please decide on a name). A short biography (six or seven sentences is sufficient) on the act, how you got into music, what gear you use in the studio, if your music is available etc.
2. A photo or image.
3. Contact details: email address, phone number and website address.
4. Details of where you music can be bought offline. (if applicable)
5. An mp3 of your music to cmn@peoplesrepublicofcork.com or send an audio CD to:

PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com
P.O. Box 611
Pouladuff
Cork.

If you want to send us an mp3 you can download wav to mp3 converters and CD rippers like Audiograbber and CD Doctor for free from downloads.com. We receive many emails concerning regularly so we have compiled an FAQ for your convienience.

Does it cost anything?
No.

What genres do you accept?
Anything from house to death metal, hip-hop to folk. Please note we will also accept traditional Irish music, country, classical music, jazz etc.

Do you accept cover versions?
No. Original music only.

Will you accept music with samples in it?
Yes. Once sample lengths are reasonable!

What if my music isn't up to scratch?
We do not give opinions or make judgements on your music. We may comment on the sound quality of the recording if necessary.

I have an unfinished track I'd like people's opinions on. Can I put it on the site?
This is a bad idea. Don't expect people to like unfinished tracks. Please ensure your music is as polished and professional sounding as it can be i.e. no clips, hissing, unexpected volume changes, your old lade doing the hoovering in the background etc.

Can I put more than one mp3 on my page?
Yes. Over time you can add more music to your page. Bandwidth in Ireland is expensive so we only allow one track on your opening day to make sure there is space for as many artists as possible.

I make music in two different genres. Can I go under two names with two different pages?
If the sound is miles apart and you feel it would not be beneficial for one track to be associated with another then we're happy to oblige.
