Cork City return to EA Sports Cup action tonight, hosting Munster rivals Limerick FC in the second round of the competition (KO 19.45).

A 3-0 win over Wexford Youths saw Tommy Dunne's side emerge from the first round with flying colours - Davin O'Neill, Graham Cummins and Rory Morrissey scoring on the night - while three more points on the road last Friday evening sees City fifth in the league after the first series of games.

Manager Tommy Dunne is expecting to have a full squad to pick from. Cillian Lordan picked up a knock against Wexford Youths but is expected to be available; Gearóid Morrissey - formerly of Blackburn Rovers - is also likely to make his club debut. The Dubliner is also set to give some of his younger squad members a run out, with one eye on next Friday night's massive league clash with Derry City.

"Cillian Lordan got a bit of a bang on the calf, but we're hopefully he'll be okay," he explained. "It was more of a knock rather than pulling anything and he's our only injury worry at the moment - the rest are okay. Gearóid will be in the frame so hopefully we'll have a full squad to pick from."

However, while Tommy would like to see his troops continue on in the competition, he is also focused on the club's next league fixture and on improving home form in general. Ten of the team's 19 points in the league this season have come away from Turner's Cross, a stat the gaffer is hoping to change.

"On Tuesday, we've got to keep one eye on Friday as well. It will be a tough game but we will have to give a few lads that haven't been playing a run out. We'd like to progress in the competition itself but we've got a big game on Friday which makes things difficult. We've got to be careful that we don't burn anybody out or pick up any injuries.

"We've done quite well on the road but we can improve our home form. We'll keep trying our best and keep trying to progress further. Apart from that, if we can keep improving in the summer months and get to the summer break within touching distance... I think that's our aim now."
