Cork City 1 Bohemians 1

Cork City 1 Bohemians 1
FourFiveOne

It was great to see all the Cork City jerseys filing into Doyle's in Phibsboro on Friday evening getting set for a top-of-the-table clash with Bohemians. Along with the 100-odd who travelled up from Cork there was the usual large number of exiles to lend a hand.

In Cork our smallies look forward to meeting a big cuddly mascot (ahhhh) . At Bohs they like to throw stones and fight.
†† Block A, where the City fans were, was where all the noise was coming from and along with the usual chants there was special attention paid to Derek Coughlan (who left City to join Bohs). A rendition of the Rose of Tralee was started but nobody knew the words!

Joseph from Dublin. If only he knew the carry on. As for the game itself City played much of it on the back-heel but did have a couple of chances in the first half. As is now usual, John O'Flynn took his chance and made it 1-0 to City just after half an hour. Thanks largely to Mick 'Super Keeper' Devine, that's the way it stayed until the 90th minute when City finally succumbed to non-stop Bohs attack and let in a far-post header by McNally. Langer! It was the same story as last year when City couldn't hold on to 2-1 lead going into injury time at Dalymount.†

If that wasn't bad enough the City support taking down flags etc. in Block A then had to put up with little Jackeen scumbags throwing coins and stones and trying to 'start' on fellas. While nothing came of it, it left a sour taste. Dirty Ol' town indeed.

Anyway, bring on the Harps in the Cup...
