CORK BANDS URGED TO SIGN UP FOR
HARD WORKING CLASS HEROES 2009

Building on its strengths on an annual basis, Hard Working Class Heroes returns to the streets of Dublin over the weekend of Friday 16 /Saturday 17 / Sunday 18 October for its 7th consecutive year.

Taking place in the Temple Bar area of Dublin the festival is now once again calling on the best of Ireland's bands to register to secure a slot to play at the event. Applications this year will be through FMC's own "Breaking Tunes" site and is completely free! (log on towww.hwch.net and click on the "BANDS APPLY HERE" button). Closing date for applications is Thursday July
30. The judging panel for applications will be made up of writers, A&R and music industry people from around the globe as well as international festival programmers.

Ticket prices remain the same with 100 of Ireland's best emerging bands on offer for a mere €40 for a full weekend pass while nightly wristbands for the event are a paltry €18.50.

And keeping up its high standard of additional events and activities there will be HWCH panels, mentor sessions and more with a host of international delegates on hand to share their wisdom and experience (thanks to the generous support of IMRO, The Arts Council, and Culture Ireland). Details of this year's exciting Invasion plans to be revealed soon.

As always Hard Working Class Heroes promises a spectacular collection of music and fun for the whole weekend.

The Hard Working Class Heroes festival has become the Irish independent music industry's most telling barometer.
