Personally I thought he could do whatever he wanted, the set was great and I loved the long stretched out bits cos they were far from boring. He is an amazing guitar player and was clearly enjoying it. Not everyone could get away with it.

Absolute Genius. The people who were disappointed must have been the prawn sandwich brigade so f*ck them. I saw Neil Young in Hammersmith in London in March when he played 2 sets and it was mega. Last night in the Marquee was amazing too. I couldnt believe my ears when i heard some ol doll moaning that he didnt play enough hits and that she was disappointed that he finished up on a Beatles song. Jesus like, never again will she see such a unique talent in Cork again. He jammed like a man possessed last night and his cover of "A Day in The Life" was amazing. Something the Beatles never got to play live and if they did i doubt they could have made it sound like that.

The people expecting him to play the Harvest and After the Goldrush albums back to back and then lick the hole off each audience member one by one are tit heads. Neil Young has always done it his own way throughout his whole career and last night was no different. All the people who snapped up tickets just because they've heard "Heart of Gold" should really have done their research beforehand although he played more than enough crowd pleasers for the prawn sandwich brigade so consider yourselves lucky.

2 hours of glorious guitar playing and amazing songs. He displayed more raw energy than you'll ever see from any artist. A True Genius

I'm absolutley gutted. Niell Young has been a hero of mine for years.
He was a voice for numerous generations with his insightful lyrics.

To me Neil is a folk singer and that is what I went to see last night. If I wanted to see 20 min solo's I'd have gone to clapton.

Where were some of his best songs , Harvest , Harvest Moon , A man needs a maid , Four strong winds , Rockin' in the free world, Old man. , Alabama etc.

Feel like I was robbed.

There was one stage where i found myself daydreaming cos the song went on over 25 minutes... I thought Words was brilliant, it went on a bit but wouldnt have minded if it went on more... Best gig i've been at in a long time..

Dylan was never renowned for his energy on stage -one goes to get a glimpse of the legend so there is no point complaining... however whatever about NY dropping the acoustic set- i did hear from concerty goers last night that he was excellent....
