Info/Biography
Karl Nesbitt is a multi-musician on flute, bodhran and bouzouki, composer and arranger of music, and an album producer. From a background steeped in traditional Irish music, Karl is as versatile and skilled a soloist as he is an accompanist. So far Karl has produced four albums, (Ireland's 96fm album of the year "The Future Tense" - Niall Connolly) , composed one short film score for RTE, and performed all over Europe in various settings with some of the best musicians in Celtic music to venues like Glasgow Concert Hall, The National Concert Hall, Cork Opera House and Everyman Palace, The Lobby Bar Cork, Whelan's and the Cobblestone in Dublin, The Crane Galway, and numerous festivals in Europe; Celtica, Celtic Connections, Festival Interceltique etc. Karl arranged a band for the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany for two years in succession, hosted a composition and flute concert at the Beamish Cork Folk Festival for three years in a row, has six years experience in teaching his instruments at all levels, and is an All-Ireland CCE champion. A past student of Colaiste Stoifain Naofa, he has also accompanied several music students of University College Cork and Cork School of Music in their various practical exams, from Traditional to Pop and Jazz.
