Info/Biography
Alan O'Rourke has been writing and performing since he was 16; mainly in the UK but in the last couple of years more and more in Cork. Hailing from Cork he left for London at the age of 19 and has been back in Cork for the last four years and has been building a folowing here while regularly returning to perform at festivals and venues throughout the UK.

His music and vocal style is most often compared to Jeff Buckley and Radiohead and yet the comparisons are superficial for beneath the surface can be seen influences from ancient Irish, Easter European, North African and Spanish musics. His live performances are both ecstaticly passionate and tendrly still. He seeks to bring the life and qualities of the Irish Landscapes into his voice and would hope that it would help resurrect a cconnection to our greatest gift that we have which is the land...something often forgotten in these times.

As he would often quote Bill Mollison - "if we loose the Universties of the World, we will loose nothing, but if we loose the forests we will loose everything,,,,"

Alan's first Album, "How to Fly" will be soon available to download and can be bought on CD at gigs.

He is currently recording his next album, "Land" which, all going well will be released next Spring. It is being recorded in both Bantry, Cork and Brighton, UK, a very happy accident which for Alan brings together the best of both worlds, evolving civilization and ancient earth.
