| A cross-cultural ensemble of Cork-based musicians playing the music of Niwel tsumbu, Congolese guitarist/composer. Guitarist, composer, singer, percussionist, 25-year-old Niwel Tsumbu moved to Ireland three years ago and since then has spearheaded a new music movement, receiving enthusiastic praise all over the country for his unique sound and stylish, big-hearted, highly energetic performances. Clear Sky Ensemble features musicians from Congo, Brazil, San Francisco, Italy, Iran, Germany and Ireland. A cross-cultural band that defies convention – they have created a new music that celebrates the cultural landscape of Ireland today, bringing tribal rhythms together with funk, reggae, Latin, breakbeat rock and jazz.
