Saw the trailer. Thought McGregor was just playing himself….obnoxious thug/scumbag? Was he actually acting??

Past Lives….the missus raved about wanting to see it. If you like slow movies it’s probably your thing. I tuned out after an hour. Dunno how I even lasted that long. Didn’t engage with anyone in it. Some nice scenery in it but I can look out the window for that. 1/10

Tbf, there were some lol moments, the fight scenes were cool and so was the camera work. I thought gyllenhaal was poor

It's so bad it's fun

I agree entirely.
Its an awful movie that's for some unknown reason is great fun to watch, like Highlander but not as good. Check your brain at the door, drink too much alcohol and enjoy the shit show.
McGregor was so bad it actually made the film better. His accent reminds me of someone(edit:might be Brendan Grace actually) but I couldn't put my finger on who it is and the gatch was like something you'd see out of a knocknaheeny teen.

Watched "Anatonmy of a Fall"

Acting was good I guess but what a found it a complete bore.

Nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture no less.
