Yes I heard earlier, rest in peace FredRIP to Cork bus driver and public transport enthusiast Fred Dean. Died suddenly today, very young man. Was only posting on Facebook last night
So the news.
The 216 will be going fully double decker operated at the start of 2024.
Well that is dependent on the Roxboro depot in Limerick getting their charging infrastructure up and running as the existing VWD and PAD vehicles are due to transfer down here as soon as the new all Electric fleet goes on the road in Limerick.
As previously mentioned above VWD 411 is being repaired after that bridge strike on Dublin Hill.
Some brand new LF double deck coaches will be based in Capwell in January, while some of the older LC's and SC's are taken off front line services.
They are auctioned off by a company up the country. Are those old busses traded in or are they sold on privately?
Is it normal to repaint buses after 7 or so years? So it is the start of the end for the Cork based red and white fleet.
Dumplin rule is phasing it out.
Here we have MC309, a 161 Cork bus which should be back in service down here tomorrow
Unfortunately they have to be done up there in that kip Tallaght :
