Swimming in The Glen for My Tourism
The Adventures of Vank Van Oofer

In my tourism in the city of Cork I have seen many beautiful places such as the Lee Fields, the Lough and also the Fitzgerald Park. My book is telling me that I have visited nearly all the cool places but then the Germans in my hostel are telling me that there is a beautiful place near to Blackpool and Ballyvolane called The Glen. I remember this word from the song 'Danny Boy', I cannot believe that it is the real place where Danny Boy is coming from. Wow!
I proceed to the Glen with my friticooyr and I am skipping like a rabbit down the mountain side to where I have discovered that there is a swimming pool and a splashing device. Lucky I have brought both my floatation equipments, the discovery glasses and emergency breathing pipe all supplied in Pound City for three euros. The earth feels strange under my clogs but quickly I am floating now on the equipment.

It is funny that I should be here all alone. There is no tourists and no lifeguards. In Holland the government pays for the lifeguards at all the swimming pools. Maybe this is why there are no tourists here...except me. This relaxation is the goodest relaxation since I am coming to Cork. There are no snakes like in The Lough and no angry peoples to shout at my person.

It is easy to make circles with your arms for example and then you are travelling. You can see I am having so much fun here. I also am told by the Germans in my hostel that the great Bob Marley was being seen by people who were in The Glen many times. I look and I can see many cannabis plants growing around the mountain side. They told us in Holland that Bob was dead because too may Dutch persons wanted to be like him and were smoking the grass all day and listening to the music. In Cork I have learned the truth about him. In my relaxation I am feeling stoned from the smell of all of the cannabis plants.

After my swim I am tired and I am lying in mountain side with my floatation equipment making a joint. Wow! Cork is so cool....
