Ok, that's disturbing, I'll grant you that, all farmed animals in Ireland come to a bad end but at least their treatment is regulated in a way that it isn't in the back streets of places like China and other far East countries, the only way to minimise suffering in the slaughter house is for the animals to be dispatched as quickly as possible and for the animals not to see their fellow creatures die, whether that is how it's managed or not I cannot say because I have never been in a slaughter house.

Well we don't have dog and cat eating festivals here, that's a good thing I suppose. Our demands for "traditional medicines" aren't threatening to wipe out whole species of animals in Africa either which is an added bonus.
