Default PR Visa and Oz?

Anyone used an agency to apply for the PR visa? How much did they cost and how good were they?

Permanent Residency I take it?

Agencies are a rip off. In NZ anyway. go with agency and it'll cost you over $3k. Do it yourself and it'll be under $2k.

There may be more competition in Oz and drive the margins down but really if you're willing to invest a few hours to bring yourself up to speed and are of a patient disposition then you're better off doing it yourself. check out the immigration site to get up to speed.

Plus they wont fight as hard for you as you would yourself if obstacles present themselves.

it goes by a points system and you get a certain amount of points depending on what qualifications you have......there is a long list......also depends on profession you are currently in

It think it really depends on your circumstances and how much documentation you provide. It could be anything from 2 weeks to 6 months plus

It can take months for a skilled migrant visa to be processed and if it's anything like a spousal visa it can take months to get all the paperwork together before you send it in.

Don't go to an agency though, they're a huge rip off and they don't anything that you can't do yourself.
All teh paperwork and checks etc that you have to do look scary but they're not and you still have to get all that stuff together to give to an agency anyway.

There's loads more information and booklets etc that you can download on http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/booklets.htm
