Why are we getting upset about what people are using as an OS? Besides, we should be united against the common enemy that is iOS!

Ubuntu is probably the most user friendly for beginners but I also like Linux Mint.

You could always give a few different distributions a go first before you decide if you know your way around VMs.

Also be careful when installing it if you don't know much about dual booting. Not an issue for me these days as I only really use Linux through VMs but years ago when I was new to Linux I tried to dual boot and deleted the wrong partitions during setup more than once.

Windows 10 is meant to be fierce cunty with dual booting too.

Also, some manufacturers have blocked it as per an agreement with M$

I use Workstation on WIN 8 running an Ubuntu VM.

Best of both worlds.
