Boy A is going to be found guilty without doubt. I'd be worried about Boy B though, but I do think he will be found guilty also.

If Justice is served, then that's what will happen.

If they get off, they and their families will be relocated at public expense. Maybe even over to the Mainland where they will be unknown.

This trial appears to have missed so many things (but perhaps I'm wrong) that I'm wondering if the prosecution will appeal a decision acquitting one or both of them.

They can’t. Once you’re acquitted you can never be charged with the same crime again. The legal principle is called double jeopardy, I believe.

The jury in the trial of two teenage boys for the murder of 14-year-old Ana Kriégel, has resumed its deliberations.

The two boys deny murdering the schoolgirl at a derelict house in Lucan on 14 May last year.

The first accused boy also denies aggravated sexual assault.

This morning, the jurors asked to see again seven of the eight interviews carried out by gardaí with Boy B during his two arrests in May and July last year.

These interviews, lasting more than sixteen hours, were shown to the jurors during the trial.

Double Jeopardy doesn't apply to an appeal, only to a fresh prosecution.

Double jeopardy also doesn't apply if new evidence comes to light.
