Default Christmas Dinner Dining out??

This year for christmas me and my family of 5 want to have christmas dinner out. Christmas is normally a very family time that we love spending at home together but this year is a bit differnent because my dad died recently. we dnt want to spend the normal christmas day at home, we want sumthing that is not the norm this year to try make it a little bit easier for ourselves. The easiest option wud be to have a very quite christmas but we have a child under ten so that wudnt be fair on him. We dont like the idea of eating in a hotel, which is all i can find so far. we would prefer a nice restaurant. can anyone help me with ideas on where is open and would be suitable for us on christmas day? In cork preferably.....tha nks everyone...

Sorry to hear about your recent circumstance, I am not sure that many if any places would be open on christmas day, I can understand why you might be averse to having it in a hotel but what about some where quiet and fairly up market like the hayfield manor?

Hi big daddy,
thanks for the reply. I actually stumbled apon the hayfield manner and thought ya that would be a perfect place to go, even if it was a liilte bit exspensive.. But when i enquired i found that it only took bookings at christmas for packages. We would have to stay overnight for two nights. so that sort of ruled it out for us.....thanks again..

They do indeed. Had the Christmas dinner there one year and it was excellent and wasn't too pricy either.
