Default Cannes / Cote d'Azur

Going to Cannes in a few weeks time. A friend will be staying in Nice while I'm there so any advice on what to do in either of these places?

Thanks!

Didn't like the vast majority of Nice when I was there. The very centre, in the old town has it's charms but the rest of it is a horrific mess of ugly, blocky buildings. Same goes for Antibes.

If you get a chances, go inland a bit and visit the Gorges Du Verdun, second largest canyon in the world, the grand canyon of Europe, I suppose.

Nice has a good nightlife and many restaurants so enjoy your nights out there. Good Casino too.

Go to Eze for a day trip - a number of Michilin star restaurants in this small hilltop town.

Make sure to go to Monaco -very worth the gander.

Cap Feret is great if you have a car - beautiful little beaches with few people on them - call into Tina Turner while passing. Elton John lives up on the hill - gave him a miss myself...

Great train service going along the coast to most of the above.
