Default "Drinking for England" - BBC Radio 5 Live Documentary

Just started listening to this now, could be an interesting listen.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is drink culture so firmly embedded in the English game? How has the top players' relationship with alcohol changed over the years and what are the effects?

Roy Keane, Harry Redknapp and Arsene Wenger are amongst the guests interviewed as Ian McGarry seeks to answer those questions. Sports scientist Dr Matthew Stride gives the medical view, while author Fergus Linnane explains the historical context to football's 'win or lose, on the booze' mentality.

Good show, first time I've ever questioned my own habits to be fair, I'd always have a few the night before any game whether it was a big or small one. And I'd always have a lash of it after any game. I might think again after listening to that last night. Might prolong what years I've left hurling which would be a bonus.

At the very least it might postpone the agony of being moved back to goalkeeper!
