Default " This time Keano has no excuse "

My mate Tony said that tonight - and Tony would never hear a wrong word said about Keano.
He bought Roy's autobiography when it came out and freely admitted it was the first book he had read since leaving school.
He once queued up for two hours at Turner's Cross to get the Great Man's autograph - and he would always defend Keano.
Of course we've been slagging him in the pub the last week or two but Tony never budged in his defence of Keano.
" He's not a quitter " was Tony's mantra.
Tonight, over his pint, he said " This time Roy has no excuse. "
And I swear there was a tear in his eye because for him the dream had died.
He simply couldn't come to terms with why Keano had quit.
" I could understand it if he fucked off the day Sunderland were relegated but to do it before the United game this weekend and this early in the season ? " he asked.
" Surely even his pride would have made him stay just to see if he could get one over on Fergie. "
Keano lost one of his most fervent supporters tonight.
" Fuck it " said Tony when I commiserated with him, " they're all the fucking same. "

Tony is obviously a deluded fuck-wit if he thinks having Keane there would have made a difference in this match, where Sunderlands underperforming expensive jokers will now have a bit of motivation and a better chance

PS-Do we really need 20 new threads on this?

PPS-Was this the Indo or the Herald?

Thumbs up

Poor Tony. On the plus side, another good man has seen the light. He'll come through this for the better

Stevie Boy - remember what I said to you about never settling for
second best ?
Sometimes you have to do things for the principle, the pride, the love, the sheer fucking hell of it.
You've gotta stand up and be counted and not live your life with the utter predictability of a painting-by-numbers ?
Keane buckled under the pressure this week simply because he couldn't face the ignominy of leading eleven men having the shit hockeyed out of them by Manyoo.
The Jews call it chutzpah, the Spanish call it cojones and the Irish call it having a lash.
Keane called it a day.

He was looking at the bigger picture

His team played well at old Trafford last year and should have got a point

Roy Keane has achieved more than most keyboard experts have ever done

He quit.
But worse than that he quit without putting up a fight.
An arrogant bully found wanting.
End of.
