And no man-made climate change. Not to mention derogations on drink-driving.

Yeah but we would have an event centre and our own airport. Amazing what politicians in opposition can achieve. Being elected to serve their community not just elected to protest.

I can't think of any major infrastructure project in progress in the greater Cork area at present except for the sewage system in the harbour.......anythi ng I am missing?

But it is surely in indictment of our politicians ineptness that the following are in varying degrees of bolloxology:

- Events Centre - Kenny did more construction work on this with the turning of one sod than what has been done since

- Dunkettle - joint top spot with the Events Centre, ah cher it's only a regional city bolloxology and won't the 2040 plan do them

- Ringaskiddy - how much longer??

- Limerick Motorway - let's do another study and waste a further €15 million before we do anything

- North Ring Road - I believe this should be done before the Limerick motorway, housing development stopped in Ballincollig due to it being on the planned route, at least it is still on someone's mind

- Luas - so many projects are going to happen towards the end of the 2040 plan, really I can't wait for 2039!!

- Commuter rail - when is the Blackpool station going to be built? Why is Mallow not on commuter rates? A number of train stations were but for when? when? when?

- Docklands bridge - I have seen a drawing but that's about it

I still believe having a directly elected mayor would have been a good move, their sole mandate would have been Cork, fail/succeed based on only those metrics. Our current crop of TDs will get away with it as they make it more about national politics than local......look what I am doing on Brexit, didn't I bring in the smoking ban etc. etc. etc.
