Also, how can he threaten Thompson with jail if she doesn't pay the fine, without convicting her?

I'd say it's fairly rare someone gets away scott free from a case like this. Forget the 6k, she got off.
Because he can convict her in Sept if the money isnt paid.

Back to your, only norries get convicted.

Yet I'd be pretty sure you have also posted in other threads about judges not sending people on free legal aid down because it is a money maker for the legal profession when/if they re-offend again. Is there any chance a large number on free legal aid would be norries, and if so (we all know the answer to this), how do you explain your seemingly contradictory position re norries and sentencing?

It'll be interesting to see if Camogie team can go on and win an All Ireland without her.

She'll probably learn her lesson from this as she has used up her "get out of jail" card.
Hopefully she can learn to drink responsibly.
Apparently that day, she had played a game up in Offaly, had nothing to eat and then laid into the drink as if it was going out of fashion.
In his first biography Keano told at least one story about a drinking session on an empty stomach.
It's bad news for anyone, not only high level sports people.
