St. Patrick's Day
Has anyone got any suggestions as to how we could get our recent arrivals more involved in this celebration?
I think we have a great opportunity to invite all of our newly arrived immigrants to share our heritage, and try to make them proud of their new home, without obviously, losing their own heritage either.
Has anyone got any ideas?

Get on to e-bookers and arrange flights over for their families.

What about getting them involved in the organisation for it?
Last year I helped the one in dub, involved everything from promoting (handing out flyers with a guy on stilts) and on the day was a grandstand host which again was piss easy. A load of foreigners were involved in it & seemed to enjoy it.

Good Idea!
Here are the details:
Each year, thousands of volunteers of all ages and abilities come together to offer their time and talents to Cork St. Patrick's Festival.
Cork St. Patrick's Festival Volunteer Programme exists to serve this mission:
Cork St. Patrick's Festival creates safe, meaningful, innovative opportunities for community involvement. The programme supports Festival staff and programming to enhance the experience provided to our citizens, our visitors, and our sponsors.
Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers help make our St. Patrick's Day celebration a successful community event. Adults, families, youth and corporate groups are encouraged to get involved.
On St. Patrick's Day, volunteers are needed to help with:
Parade
Parade Balloon Carriers
Information Tent Attendants
Banner Carriers & Costume Characters
Volunteer Hospitality
Children's Game & Craft Attendants
Stage Managers
Volunteers in Parks (VIPs)
Crowd Ushers
Merchandise Sellers
Information Booth
Volunteers are generally asked to offer one four-hour shift at these events and duties range from greeting, giving information, selling merchandise, helping with refreshments, working with children’s activities and helping with logistics.
It’s a great way to meet others and add to the community spirit of Cork's signature event!
