It’s utter nonsense - the ref had a clear view of the ‘push’ and waved play on, that should be the end of that.

Reviewing the penalty was also an utter nonsense, it was clearly inside the box and contact was made.. no professional ref should need help on that one, but if he did it would have been clear on the first review. PSG should have had a penalty and on we go

Hypothetical question to add to the nonsense then.. if Courtois had broken the strikers leg in the collision, would he have got a free pass on that since his red card was rescinded?

It was a foul on Marcelo but it's poor how the whole thing developed.

Lucas Moura also fouled an Olympiakos player in the build up to Spurs' equaliser and there wasn't a dickie bird about it.

its a VARce

What would have happened if Courtois had broken the strikers leg in the collision?Would the ref have taken the incident on its own merits and given him the red again for a second time, but awarded the kick out regardless?

That was ridiculous given the more innocuous stuff they regularly go back and check. The only thing I can think of is that the ball went dead in the interim so was considered a new phase of play. Not sure where the cutoff is to intervene

Good Grief.

Was pre VAR really that bad, that we now have to tolerate this?

The Madrid one last night was crazy too.

We'll have to make a daily post in this thread: "has VAR acted the bollocks yet today?"
