The sight of a child with measles suffering from neurological complications would cure all the anti vaccers from their phobia

Cool story bro. I think you’ll find that there are just as many home schooling right wing Christers on board this train too.

This has nothing to do with religion, It's about a mistaken belief that vaccinations cause autism.

Yes. And they generally are.

crèches make you fill in an application form and they specifically ask if your child is up to date on all vaccines.

You have to do the same thing if you want to put your dog into a kennels.

Parents of Irish kids who missed meningitis B vaccine must pay up to €300 for jab.

Quote:
Parents of children who missed their free meningitis B vaccine must fork out up to €300 to get the jab privately, it has been revealed.

GPs say they have been inundated with calls from worried parents checking their children's vaccination records after 11 cases of meningitis were reported in the past two weeks.

Three people have died as a direct result of the illness and it poses a serious risk to young children and adolescents.

Children in the 12 months after October 2016 were eligible to receive a free vaccination against meningitis B, however, kids born before then will only have received the meningitis C vaccine as part of the childhood immunisation schedule.

Children who missed the meningitis B vaccine can get it privately, however, it costs €115 to €150 per jab and two shots are required for immunisation.

The inoculation is not covered by the medical card either, putting low-income families at risk.

Stressed parents are now begging the Government to foot the cost of immunisation.

One mum has told The Times Ireland how she had to choose between which child to vaccinate due to the hefty cost of the bill.

Samantha Kenny, 37, from Athy in Co. Kildare, has four children and was quoted a cost of €1,120 to immunise all four, at a cost of €280 per child.

Samantha's youngest child Ava, three, who missed out on the free vaccine, suffers from a genetic condition called Wolf-Hirschorn syndrome.

This means she has a developmental age of just six months old and Samantha fears she is at risk.

According to the above the Meningitis B vaccine has only been available free since 2016 so potentially many children have not had it so it is a worrying time for parents.
