The block across from the White Horse is social too. According to the local curtain twitching racists, ie my mother and her friends, they’re all going to the “sambos” or worse still, young ones with kids

Momma and poppa and a big spread of kids. Young mothers with children from differing fathers and the live in current boyfriend. Great stuff. White horse will be delighted👍

FFS, do said 'objectors' have a 'postal address', or fixed abode?

How did they communicate their objection to City Hall?

Tyre fire smoke signals?

FG/FF want to solve the housing crisis, just not in their backyard.
(Also Id say Mehaul will be surprised to hear the brother has jumped ship to the Blueshirts. More qualidee journalism from De Echo).

councillor Shane O’ Callaghan (FG) has said the local infrastructure is struggling to cope as it is and the extra cars will cause “carnage. A proposal has been approved by An Bord Pleanala for 176 houses and 75 apartments to include parking spaces for 438 houses. That’s a lot of cars that will be streaming out onto the Grange Road.

“It’s gridlock, at the moment. I don’t know where these extra cars are going to go. The road infrastructure is completely inadequate to be able to deal with the number of houses and these 438 cars,” Mr O’Callaghan added.

Sean Martin (FG) said funding is needed immediately to address the issue. “The road infrastructure is not capable of dealing with what’s out there, at the moment, and I think we need to take a good, long look at this and try and identify funding, because this will be a nightmare in the future,” Mr Martin said

Politicians of all parties in all parts of the city objecting to homes (while yelping daily about a housing/homelessness crisis) objecting to homes for votes from local cranks (who conveniently already have homes).

An Bord Pleanala have already approved this scheme so he is only pretending to object to this development and calling this development a "ticking timebomb" only illustrates his ignorance even further.

Cork people are fucking married to their cars. If more people cycled, bused it or walked 5 minutes to the shop instead of fucking driving maybe it wouldn't be such a horror in their lives.

Lifestyles and work patterns are changing which should mean to old thing of rush hour traffic become less relevant in future. More home working/flexi working in particular means people can avoid it unless really nessecery.
