Could we just to say to politicians of all parties, sorry but my vote is stalled until you sort out the Semi State Agencies and Depts that are giving us fuck all?
Or can we just keep some of the €5 Billion that we generate for the state in tax every year, more than the rest of Munster and some of Connaught combined?

It is private sector investment that is driving this place on, construction wise.

The last time there was Government money spent down here was 10 years ago now when they did the fly overs over the magic roundabout and Bishopstown roundabout.

I was always pro FG, but not anymore, they have left this place down.

The €13 Billion that the government was forced to collect from Apple in Cork and lodge in an Escrow account during the court case about state aid has now cost the Exchequer €70 Million so far in negative interest charges.

Meanwhile lobby groups in Dublin, Galway, and even Shannon are calling for that money to be spent on roads, airport terminals, housing, and assorted pet projects.

The rest of the country is circling while projects such as the North Ring Road, the M20 Motorway, the Dunkettle Interchange, and many many others are put on the long finger by the faceless unelected bureaucrats in Dublin.

By the way, the site selection for the proposed new hospital for Cork is supposed to be completed by "the end of the year."

Coveney will top the poll in South Central.

It's ok to be stuck in traffic for 15 hours every week if you're sitting in a 191 white SUV.

The Irish Government spent €3.9 million on consultancy fees and other costs setting up an escrow account last year to hold €14.3 billion of back-taxes and interest that the European Commission ordered it to collect from Apple, even as the matter is under appeal before courts in Luxembourg.

The figure was contained in a report published on Monday by the Comptroller and Auditor General on accounts of the public services for 2018.

Account

The report reiterated a previous projection by the National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA), which was responsible for setting up the escrow account, that the fund is set to decline by 0.5 per cent, or €70 million, a year as negative interest rates persist across the euro zone at a time when the European Central Bank is charging banks minus 0.5 per cent to hold their money.

You are a very patient poster. Could have made a good teacher explaining and simplifying it so that even he can understand
