Default Stranger Things

I just watched the first episode of Stranger Things, season 3, and it has suffered greatly from its fame. If your show is good and becomes successful because of its quality don’t poor a tonne of money into the production. It kills the thing that made it good.

I'm on episode 4 now. It seems slower paced this season. I'm hoping it will pick up a few gears for the last 2/3 episodes.

Edit: It has a 93% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes for season 3 so maybe it does pick up after a slow first couple of episodes.

Just finished episode 4 there now. It takes off like a mother fucker. The first 3 episodes were slow paced introducing some new characters but it hits a different gear in episode 4.

I don't mind the slow pace, the throwback to the 80s is something I'd happily stop to enjoy anyway as long as the story is solid, which it is.

The Russian picking the science boffin up one-handed, a la Darth Vader... MEMBA THAT?!

Season two was mediocre. Hope this improves.

Basically The Goonies for Millenials.

Big nostalgia vibe going on too for 80s teens.

Formerly cossetted children for whom the notion of 4 friends going on an adventure on bikes with no smartphones is akin to science fiction.
