Yeah, I'd recommend that if you do it right, focussing on your breathing can definitely help physical performance. Natural athletes breath properly, naturally. Those of us not so gifted can emulate this by controlling it. Plus, it can distract from the pain of exercising rusty muscles.
Don't think such a recommendation qualifies as hippy ghey shit though!
