The fire at Sunbeam reminded me of this development that was supposed to happen in the last boom:

Highrise was going to be allowed in multiple different areas including Sunbeam!!

You should run yourself next time mate. What with your award winning personality and penchant for getting on well with people, you'd make a great politician.

Gives you an indication of the likelihood of all of the current proposals ever being built. The site of the Jacobs Island Tower is already up for sale

Unfortunately the downturn might come before anymore come to fruition but having said that there is a good mix recently with only 2 new offices blocks announced (Prism and where Oxford are located on Penrose Quay), the rest are residential (10 storey behind Navigation House, 25 storey for the Sextant and 17 storey out the link road), then the Custom House Quay one is a hotel. Of course there are a few other hotels as well but this is the main one.

Hopefully work on the Prism will start in October as stated by the developers. Btw any movement on the Crows Nest site by UCC, they had said they were going to start in August???
