With an android phone you just hit home screen and volume button at the same time and the photo of your screen should be in your gallery/photos file.
i-phone should have same/similar option.

Attach to e-mail, send to yourself and print from PC.

Go to the start of the conversation and take a screenshot. Then work your way down, repeating that step, until you have images of the entirety of the conversation. Send those images to your email address using the share function on your phone. Then download the images to your pc. Start a word doc and insert and collate the images. You can change size of the images to a compact yet readable size. Then print.

To take a screenshot on an iphone: Open the app you want to screenshot and go to the exact screen you want to capture. Press and hold the Power button on the right side and click the Home button at the exact same time.

I used to find that extremely clumsy. If you have Android 9, it is now much easier. Just press and hold the power button. 3 options appear: power off, restart or screenshot.
