Agree. I also believe boy B may have plotted the whole thing for his own gratification.

This is a very long thread so apologies if this question has been answered before. Why were the two accused not cross-examined in court?

They weren't cross examined because they didn't give evidence.

Afaik (and I was away for a lot of the trial so may have missed some things) the defence did not put forward any evidence at all.
