All joking aside thats a shame. Really good food.

Star Anise too.
Serious lack of French cuisine in the city.

Bizarre though, it seems like they've just closed down all of a sudden? Star Anise announced a week or two before that they'd be closing.

Les Gourmandises always seemed like it did well. Strange that they'd just announce on a Tuesday afternoon that they'd closed down after 18 years?

Pity. Had a great meal the last time I was there. Great service too.

According to Prenderville they are taking up position in a 5star hotel. Perhaps Hayfield? Guaranteed customers without the hassle of rates etc.

Neil was on about a well known restaurant in Cork closing because their head chef was leaving to work in a 5 star hotel, he didn't name it so perhaps...?
