In the interest of balance. Clear handball in the box by a Shrewsbury player not given. VAR not in operation in this game.

...and then a pen given for a foul outside the box.

Oh, everything is balanced. With VAR, there are major inconsistencies. Without VAR, there are major inconsistencies.

That's a bit of a nothing statement Dan.

In this particular game there were two big decisions that the officials got wrong - which VAR would've overruled leading, in all likelihood, to a 2 goal swing and an entirely different result.

Not moaning from a Liverpool perspective, simply highlighting that (despite it's implementation issues, esp. for offsides) VAR results in more accurate decisions for game-shaping moments.

Like the Sadio mane dive against SU?

Or the non handball against city that Liverpool went up the pitch and scored from.

Liverpool fans moaning about VAR is like astronauts moaning about space.

Just trying to make a constructive point about VAR, in the interest of balance - as it's become fashionable to only highlight the negative side.

The many game-shaping decisions which VAR does help to get right are, IMHO, taken for granted a bit.
