Google "Muckross M5510" for an enhanced version of this picture taken in sept 1970 by some woman called daphne whi was irelands first flying instructor.


De nartside stopps at bakers road with the orthapedic in practically a rural setting.
Large pine trees surround the "mon field".

Farranree and guaran churches dominate the northside skyline with thd telephone exchange yet to be built.

The once Ubiquitous Renault 4 on the right. Telecom Eireann had the white and orange ones, An Post the green and even the Guards were still using them up to the late 80's.

4 lanes of traffic there too. I have vague memories of Patrick street being a fucker to cross as a kid. There was a lot more road and a lot less footpath compared to now.

I'm thinking 84 as the green bombardier buses came in around then. Great to see a Fiat Ritmo in the back ground
