Yea the Prestigio ones seem the better of the very low end , and worth a punt .

I've been looking at a few of them

Argos are currently doing a great deal on 7" Samsung Galaxy Tab 2s in the UK, £109.

Just checked it on the Ireland site:
http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/p...7C24662256.htm

€149, albeit with €10 voucher.

Quality piece of kit for a pretty low price, to be fair.

Acer Iconia isn't that bad either:
http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/p...7C24662256.htm
€129 with €10 voucher.

The Tab 2's seem the way to go alright for the price I'm looking at
But I reckon I'd get two of them and two more kiddie friendly ones if I end up leaning that way
The Asus MeMo is a contender too though

( Most of the online and Probably Curry's have them at much the same price as that )

one thing about Argos I've found though is that their aftercare can be very good , or a little lacklustre depending on exactly what's up with a bit of tech .

I've had them replace no questions a camera bought the previous day that Dropped due to the strap not holding . I've also had to wait 7 weeks for a simple repair to a fried Hard drive

So swings and roundabouts really

Should I be buying the Ipad air?

I have decided that I must have a tablet.

Mostly for travelling and mostly for looking at movies while in transit.

Can one load (stolen) movies and tv series on to an Ipad?

I'd be looking at big memory.

They're not too bad from a cost point of view when you factor in the new additions to the software.

Plus, everyone has an app for the Ipad.

Plus, my crowd are planning to deploy Office365 soon - rendering my laptop null and void against the 400 grams of ipad.

Is flash still a issue for Apple?

I understand it is, but most organisations have a way of sorting it.

Still haven't gotten myself a tablety thing, but 10 inches is definitely a minimum...

Yup - just checked out RTE programs there on an ipad mini - which I bought for another unit a few months ago.

All works.

I reckon I'll go for the ipad air.

It's expensive enough but it seems to be quality gear.

God damn, I'm an Apple head.

To be fair to Apple, they're not insanely expensive.
If you take the Galaxy Tab 3 as a comparison, in the UK, it's £100 cheaper.

But the screen isn't have as good, the processor is way more powerful (especially with graphics), both cameras are better, it's 20% lighter and it's got all the iWork and iLife apps built in, something that Samsung either haven't got or they're versions that are just ok.

The memory is the most galling rip off there. I have a 64GB SD card I picked up for £40. To go from the 16GB model to the 64GB model costs £160, and you're stuck with it. On the other hand, the Galaxy tab should support the forthcoming 128GB MicroSD cards. Which would be a nice upgrade when it comes...
