Exactly.. And the old tech is not currently quite up the the new application. It's not about how far you can drop them and they'll survive, hands down they beat hard disks there, it's about MTBF when subjected to the sustained write speeds of desktop computer buses.

Gave your info to a tech friend of mine who knows me well.
he keeps me on the straight and narrow with whats appropriate!)

I've sent him your recommendations, so he'll probably work out what's best for me.

Danke!

True.

In the mobily phone industry, we have been doing that sort of load and cycle balancing for years, but I suspect the real problem is thermal

What should I do?

I'm feeling all giddy that it's nearly hometime, see.
So there's this, plus a new lens for my camera.

I know your friend. He is a flash git so don't let him talk you into super specs. I work in IT and even my old black one is still sufficient for what I need. Granted I don't use it for work but you won't need anything super specy. Wouldn't really pay for the apple care either but that's just me. Was lucky never needed it. But Frank did and doubt the fix is more than 300 quid.

Besides, the Apple Care didn't do anything to help me when my iPod and Macbook were nicked...
